It´s Friday, my birthday, and tomorrow afternoon I´ll be on my way to London, Edinburgh and the Highlands.I am doing the whole trip with Easyjet . I´ll be flying tomorrow Madrid to London and Sunday morning to Edinburgh. A week later I´ll return from Edinburgh to London, and on the 30th I´ll catch a flight from Stansted to Bilbao.
I am going to stay at a B&B near Victoria tomorrow ( Cartref House, not expensive, but you had to pay in advance). The first couple of nights in Edinburgh I am staying at a hostel in Dublin Street ( Bus Station Backpackers Edinburgh Hostel ), then I will join a Wild in Scotland tour, and on Saturday night I will stay at the Smart City Hostel. Once back in London I will stay at the Lime Tree Hotel. I was there back in December, and I liked it a lot. It´s not easy to navigate due to the amount of stairs (my room was in the fourth floor), but the bathrooms and bedrooms are roomy, and the owners are quite nice. And don´t forget the location. It was quiet, and just a quick walk from the King´s Road.
OK, what else. I have discovered that Terravision runs a bus from Victoria to Stansted, and that will come pretty handy. If not, I would have had to change metros in order to get to Liverpool St Station. It would have taken me ages to do it.
I have booked plenty of entertainment. I´ll begin on Sunday evening with "Eurobeat", continue at lunch time on Monday with "Potted Potter" and Forsythe´s old choreography "Impressing the Czar" that same evening. I didn´t know that "In the middle, somewhat elevated" was from this particular piece, so I am looking forward to see it in context. I also have tickets for "In Celebration" in London, and the PROMS 60 ( Mariss Jansons and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra playing Strauss and Sibelius).
Now I should go and check the weather forecast (although it won´t change my clothes list, jeans, polar fleece, rainwear and hiking sneakers are high priority), just in case I am heading towards a deep winter and should think of packing my winter gloves and fur hat.
Talk to you soon.
